Description
English: Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, Royal Navy visited Mumbai and interacted with Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar FOCINC WNC on 23 October 2021. The Royal Navy Chief's visit coincides with the visit to India of UKCSG 21 and is significant as the two navies are set to commence the maiden edition of Exercise Konkan Shakti-21 off the west coast of India in the Arabian Sea. The two Admirals discussed issues of mutual concern such as enhancing jointmanship and interoperability, strengthening anti-terrorism collaboration and expanding bilateral cooperation as part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations and their navies. Accompanied by a delegation from the Royal Navy, the First Sea Lord also visited INS Kochi and Karanj and was given an insight into the capabilities and operations of the two platforms. The UK Navy Chief embarked the aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Flagship of the UK's Carrier Strike Group 21, and participated in scheduled interactions with senior officials from India's military, government and industrial organisations.
