Description
日本語: 條理整齊にる臺中市。臺中市は新興の都邑である。領臺前の臺中は人口千餘の小聚落に過ぎなかつたのであるから，今日の臺中市は全く從前の聚落に拘束せられす近代的都市計畫によつて建設せられたのである。從つて條理整然臺灣の京都の稱がある。臺中市が近時大發展を遂げたのは附近開拓の進捗によろのであつて新開地に植栽せられた芭蕉は今日臺中附近の重要物產となり，臺中市は其中心市場である。市街は鐵道線路によつて東西に別れ，綠川、柳川の二清流に貫流せられてゐる。寫真は線路の西部市州の廳舍を中心とする部分であろ。（三尾良次郎，臺北高等學校教諭兼教授）
