Description

An aerial view of north Manchester and adjoining parts of Prestwich (Metropolitan Borough of Bury) and Middleton (Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale), in Greater Manchester, England.

The green space is Manchester's principal municipal park, Heaton Park; the large body of water near the centre of the image is Heaton Park Reservior. Also captured is the M60 motorway and several A-roads; in the top-left corner of the image is Rhodes and Middleton; Blackley is in the top-right corner. Geographic North is on the left-hand side of this image, meaning the photographer pointed their camera in a westerly direction.
