Summary edit

Description
English: Aerial photograph taken during RAF Bomber Command's raid on the North German port of Lubeck on the night of 28/29 March 1942.
Vertical aerial photograph taken during the major night raid on Lubeck, Germany on 28/29 March 1942. On the left, larges fires caused by incendiaries can be seen in the Altstadt. To the right, on the other side of the Trave river, is a large fire, apparently in the enamelware works of Carl Thiele u. Sohne. This raid was the first major success for Bomber Command against a German target. More than 400 tons of bombs were dropped, two-thirds of which were incendiaries. 190 acres of the medieval Altstadt were destroyed, including many buildings of architectural and historical importance.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
