English: AfSEM is designed to bring greater energy security, sustainability, and competitiveness to the Africa Union Member States. It will be the most cost-efficient response to the strong growth of electricity demand in Africa, the most essential tool to use the full potential of the continent’s Renewable Energy Sources, and an effective accelerator to 100% access to electricity in the continent. AfSEM Implementation begins and it will involve all the Pan African Energy stakeholders and be fully owned by the 55-AU Member States. Full operationalization is expected by 2040. |
