"Only dock left in Seattle" is a bit of an odd claim: about 12 blocks north was Schwabacher's Wharf. Further, references such as CHAPTER THREE: Reaping the Profits of the Klondike Trade / Outfitters. Hard Drive to the Klondike: Promoting Seattle During the Gold Rush. Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Seattle Unit (2003-02-18). Retrieved on 2009-10-18. state that no docks south of Schwabacher's Wharf survived the fire (beyond the survival of some pilings). "Oregon Improvement Co. dock" pretty much has to mean either the Ocean Dock or City Dock of the Columbia and Puget Sound Railway Company, which was a subsidiary of the Oregon Improvement Company, but this does not visually match File:Seattle, to southwest from roof of Occidental Hotel at Yesler Way and James St (CURTIS 1072).jpeg which shows those two docks in 1888. Possibly this is a rebuilt dock several months after the fire; possibly something else entirely.
