Deutsch: ~Ágfalva (und Umgebung) Schlacht zwischen Österreich und Ungarn Und Volksabstimmung in Ödenburg und Umgebung Denkmal (2002)- Agfalva (Agendorf), Ungarn English: Memorial of the battles in 1921 between Austria and Hungary and the Referendum (1921). Carved by László Baranyai planned by Gábor Baranyai architect. Installed in 2002. It shows on front side 1921 number, and names of settlements /and bronze CoAs of these/ of the Referendum (1921); on the other side is a relief of the national coat of arms of Hungary. Note: the people of Ágfalva did not want to join Hungary, this is indicated by a plaque at the bottom of the monument that reads the referendum result of Ágfalva/Agendorf: Austria voted 82.2%, Hungary 17.1%. - before 50 Patak Street, Ágfalva, Hungary Français : Agfalva, Hongrie
Magyar: Ágfalvi csaták és a soproni népszavazás emlékműve Baranyai László kőfaragó, Baranyai Gábor építész, tervező alkotása. Az egyik oldalon a magyar koronás címer, a másik oldalon felsorolva a népszavazásban részt vett települések nevei, saját kis bronz címereikkel. Felállítás 2002. szeptember 8. Az első világháború után 1921, Augusztus 28-án magyar katonaság és az osztrák csendőralakulatok közti csatában, ahol a magyar erők visszavetették az osztrákokat, ez volt az első ágfalvi csata. Ezzel vette kezdetét a másfél hónapig tartó nyugat-magyarországi fegyveres felkelés, amely elvezetett a soproni népszavazáshoz. 1921. szeptember 7-i csatában az osztrák megszálló erők terve az volt, hogy csatlakozásra bírják Sopront. El akarták foglalni a kutakat, hogy így kényszerítsék a várost megadásra. A magyar felkelők azonban megelőzték az osztrákokat, és az ellenség ekkor, a második ágfalvi csatában szenvedte el legsúlyosabb vereségét. Az osztrák erők ezután a történelmi határra vonták vissza csapataikat. Tulajdonképpen ennek az ütközetnek köszönhető, hogy Sopron és környéke később népszavazással dönthetett hovatartozásáról. Megj. az ágfalviak nem akartak Magyarországhoz csatlakozni erre utal az emlékmű alján egy tábla, melyen Ágfalva/Agendorf népszavazási eredménye olvasható: Ausztria 82,2%, Magyarország 17,1% mellett szavazott.[1] - Győr-Moson-Sopron megye, Ágfalva, Patak utca 50. előtt |
