Description
English: CLASSIFICATION: Mammal, Cercopithecidae

HABITAT: Primary and secondary rain forest; up to 725 m high. THREATS: Habitat destruction, bushmeat trade. DIET: Fruits (>75%), seeds, leaves, flowers, mushrooms, roots, invertebrates (35%), duikers. ECOLOGY: Multi&-multip, 13-multif, solitary. Fission-fusion. Group size: 25 - 235 ind.

Agile Mangabeys are diurnal animals spending their time foraging (40%), travelling (30%) and resting (15%). The rest of the time is dedicated to social activities. They are much more terrestrial than other mangabeys and dominant males are significantly more terrestrial then females. They generally live in groups of several males and several females but can also live in harems of one dominant male with several females. Several groups can temporary associate to form a supergroup of up to 235 individuals.

Even though Agile Mangabeys can eat duikers they also forage with them on the ground, reacting to each others vocalisations.
