Español: Aguamanil de estilo renacentista en la Sacristía de los Cálices de la catedral de Sevilla, (España). El aguamanil, que está colocado en el lado derecho de la sacristía, se hizo para seguir las prescripciones del Concilio de Trento, donde se dispuso que los oficiantes de la eucaristía debían lavarse las manos antes y después de los oficios divinos. Aunque de es pequeñas proporciones, tiene una estructura interesante por adoptar la forma de un retablo renacentista a pequeña escala. Esta obra fue labrada por Asensio de Maeda aproximadamente entre 1580 y 1590, y muy probablemente con la colaboración de Juan Bautista Vázquez el Viejo. Y la pila que contiene el agua está labrada en un jaspe multicolor que la hace atrayente a la vista. |
