Two-third of my way through a 2-week road trip, I left Vancouver and re-entered US for the final stretch back to Los Angeles. And my first stateside stop is the Boeing widebody aircraft assembly plant in Everett, 30 minutes north of Seattle, where I can take a tour (absolutely no photos allowed) and also do planespotting. Dozens of 747-8s and 787s around (plus another 787 not visible - N20904, United Airlines' first 787, in the paint shop). Stored without engines, this aircraft won't be taking to the skies anytime soon. One interesting detail on this plane is that where there are no windows due to structural reinforcements, Air India painted fake windows anyway. Given Air India's distinctive livery that decorates every window with a border, it would indeed look very awkward if those fake windows did not exist.
