Summary edit

Description

This 2004-vintage Boeing 767 is one of several flights that connect Honolulu to Japan daily.

The Japanese had first come in the 19th Century to work the sugar cane plantations of Hawaii, then came again in 1941 to destroy the US Pacific Fleet. Today, the Japanese continue to come to Hawaii, to explore its natural beauty and culture, and to infuse Hawaii with a ton of cash via tourism spending. Also, with the descendants of the early Japanese sugar cane plantation laborers making up much of the Hawaiian residents' ethnic stock, the Japan-Hawaii relationship remains stronger than ever.

Both ANA and its home competitor Japan Air Lines are major operators to Honolulu. Additional services between Honolulu and Japan are operated by Delta Air Lines (having inherited the routes from Northwest Airlines), United Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines.
