English: Alvin Oscar "Al" Bramstedt, Sr. (1917–1991) was an American broadcasting executive, whose career in broadcasting spanned nearly a half century. Originally from Cosmopolis, Washington, Bramstedt moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1940 to work for Austin E. Lathrop at his new radio station KFAR. Bramstedt later became the general manager of parent Midnight Sun Broadcasting Company, which included KENI and television stations KFAR-TV (now KATN) and KENI-TV (now KTUU-TV). In 1960, he founded All-Alaskan Broadcasters, later Midnight Sun Broadcasters, which purchased Midnight Sun Broadcasting and other stations in Alaska. The statewide "Midnight Sun Network" which ensued was not the first all-Alaska broadcasting network, but was the first of any real significance. Bramstedt sold the stations and retired in the early 1980s. His son, Al Bramstedt, Jr., followed in his father's footsteps, and was KTUU's general manager until the station's purchase by Schurz Communications in the late 2000s.
