English: Lawns and gardens surrounded the buildings at Seattle's Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. The large, white buildings looked like they were made of stone, but they were actually built from wood and plaster.

This photo, taken in 1909 by Frank Nowell, shows crowds of people enjoying the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Frank Nowell was the fair's official photographer.
