| Description |
English: This tunnel got long in the tooth and celebrates its 111th birthday on 15 April this year. It would have to be modernized fundamental. The costs would be only 20 million CHF less than a new tunnel. Therefore it was decided to build a new one. This has advantages because the railway service can be maintained, and the old tunnel can be used as a rescue and safety tunnel. Switzerland, March 30, 2014. |
