Summary edit

Description
English: Moot Hall, Aldeburgh, Suffolk. Built about 1520 and was the town's meeting place for some 400 years. Then it was at the centre of Aldeburgh, but coastal erosion now means it stands only a stone's throw from the sea. It was fully restored in 1854 when chimneys copied from Hampton Court were added, and again at the end of the 1980’s when accumulated soil round it was removed. Now it’ is the meeting place of the Town Council and, upstairs, a small museum.
