  • Dansk: Anses traditionelt for at forestille Ottavio Farnese (1520-86), hertug af Camerino 1540-45, hertug af Parma 1547-49 og igen 1550-86, desuden hertug af Piacenza fra 1556. Denne identifikation synes bekræftet ved sammenligning med andre portrætter af Ottavio Farnese. Han er portrætteret sammen med broderen, kardinal Alessandro Farnese, og bedstefaderen pave Paul III i 1546 på det berømte gruppeportræt af Tizian (Napoli, Capodimonte). Tizian har også malet portrætter af ham og hans hustru, Karl V's datter, Margrethe af Østrig. Han er fremstillet flere gange på Taddeo Zuccari's fresker i Caprarola, Palazzo Farnese. Annibale Fontana har udført en buste af ham, Milano, Castello Sforzesco, mens busten på hans gravmæle i Parma, Madonna della Steccata, tilskrives G. B. Fornari (G. Fiocco i Arte Veneta, 1951, fig. 131). Mens identifikationen som et portræt af Ottavio Farnese forekommer overbevisende, er tilskrivningen mere problematisk. Den blev tilskrevet Alessandro Vittoria (1525-1608) af F. Beckett i "Nordisk Tidsskrift", 1892, p. 595, og der er et overfladisk slægtsskab med den signerede og 1546 daterede buste af Leonardo Rinaldi i London, National Gallery. Mere beslægtet er busten af Pietro Aretino i Leningrad, Eremitagen, Zaretskaja & N. Kossaréva, "La sculpture de l'Europe occidentale", 1975, nr. 28-29, formentlig fra begyndelsen af 1550'erne.
