SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 18, 2011) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District’s chief of planning Alicia Kirchner is interviewed on Sacramento’s flood history by the Water Education Foundation here March 14. Kirchner discussed past and ongoing risk of flooding in the Sacramento area for a PBS documentary video scheduled for release in May.

“Sacramento is one of America’s most-at-risk cities for flood,” Kirchner said. “The Corps is working with the state of California and local agencies to improve the levees here, but living with levees will always come with risk.” (U.S. Army Photo/Todd Plain)
