English: Church of All Saints, Catfield, Norfolk, two ledger stones:

Ledger stone of Benjamin Cubitt (1695-1762), the son of Benjamin Cubitt by his wife (and cousin?) Elizabeth Cubitt, a daughter of James Cubitt. He married Elizabeth Dyne (Dynne) (1717-1786), a daughter of William Dyne (Dynne) of Bintree, Norfolk. He died 27th August 1762 aged 67. She died 28th April 1786 aged 69. Also their sons Benjamin, Jacob & Thomas who died as infants. Also Sarah wife of William Jay, gent died 14th September 1786 aged 30 (Source: see jmc4 - Church Explorer [1]). All Saints, Catfield, Norfolk - Ledger slab to Benjamin Cubitt (1695-1762) of Catfield, who died aged 67, and his wife Elizabeth Dyne (Dynne) (1717-1786) (not "Lynn" as stated) who died aged 69, a daughter of William Dyne (Dynne) "of Bintree, Norfolk" (not "Lynn", as confirmed by heraldry, source: http://www.thepeerage.com/p68096.htm#i680956). Here the wing is shown on a fess, not merely in fess. w:Heydon Hall was built between 1581 and 1584 by Henry Dynne, Auditor of the Receipt of the Exchequer. Cubitt, impaling: On a fesse between four crosses pattée two and two, a bird's wing (Dynne or Dyne of Heydon, co. Norfolk, Sable, a marlion's wing in fesse argent between four crosses pattée, two and two) Crest: An arm in armour embowed, holding an arrow (Cubitt, An arm in armour embowed proper, throwing an arrow gules, feathered argent) " M.S. Benjamini Cubitt, Generosi, et Elizabethae uxoris suae, qui obierunt — Ille Die xxvii Augusti, Anno Domini mdcclxii., aeatis vero suae LXVii. Haec autem Die XXVIII Aprilis Anno Domini MDCCLXXXVI., aetatis suae LXIX., quatuor etiam ex illis Liberorum Benjamini, Jacobi, et Thomae Infantum, Sarae autem Gul(iel)mi Jay, generosi, Uxoris Quae decessit die XIV. Ledger stone of Mary Finley (1762-19th August 1801), who died aged 39, (see clearer image [5]) a daughter of Rev. Justice Finley of Burton upon Stather, Lincolnshire, and wife of George Cubitt. Also of her children:

  • George Cubitt II (1783-1797), died aged 14;
  • John Edmund Cubitt (1794-1812) died aged 11;
  • Catherine Cubitt (1798-1809) died aged 11.
