Summary edit

Description
English: All Saints, Forton The massive somewhat squat medieval tower sits next to the C18th restoration of the south side of the nave. The church is large and prosperous for the small village it graces - a tribute to the years of support by the Skrymsher and Boughey families. The Bougheys were a staunch Anglican family who over the years provided many clergymen including at least one bishop, and were from Aqualate Hall, about 2 miles to the south east. The tower is not unlike that at High Offley about 2 miles away, a village which once also had the Skrymsher family as lords of the manor.
