Description

Hatchment, All Saints Church, Dickleburgh, Norfolk, to George Lee, Esq., late of this parish, and of Lombard Street, City of London, banker, who died May 4th, 1828, aged 68. Arms: Azure, two bars erminois over all a bend gobony or and gules (Lee); impaling: Argent, a cross engrailed gules between four roses of the second seeded or barbed vert ("Aytoun of that Ilk, Berwick" (Ayton Castle, Eyemouth, near Berwick) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.37, "Aytoun")); he married in 1786 in Weybread, Hannah Ayton/Aytoun, (per flickr file) AYTON of Ingoldesthorpe Norfolk. Sir John Patteson (11 February 1790 – 2 June 1861) an English judge wasthe second son of the Rev. Henry Patteson of Drinkstone, Suffolk, by his wife, Sophia Lee, daughter of Richard Ayton Lee, a London banker, he was born at Coney Weston, Suffolk, on 11 February 1790. Patteson was twice married: first, on 23 February 1818, to his cousin Elizabeth Lee, daughter of George Lee of Dickleburgh, Norfolk, by whom he had one daughter; and after her death on 3 April 1820, he married, on 22 April 1824, Frances Duke, daughter of James Coleridge and sister of John Taylor Coleridge, who died on 27 November 1842.
