| Description |
The now Scout HQ, based on Washbrook Lane just off Brown’s Lane - The Windmill Hill, was the site in 1942 of a war time cooking depot, as it states on the plans. Planning permission was granted by the City of Coventry and District of Meriden Rural District Council. The foundations of the Anderson Shelter are still clearly visible in the coppice. The current building - of a later date - is now headquarters of the 1st Coventry (Allesley Village) Air Scout Group. It is a building I have passed many thousands of times and never bothered to look at - let alone photograph. However I now need an image for the Parish Magazine so I have made the effort. |
