Français : Allison Davie (1796-1836) « Né en 1796 en Écosse, Allison Davie est d’abord capitaine pour la Compagnie des Indes orientales, puis sur la route maritime de l’Atlantique avant d’arriver à Québec en 1825. Il rencontre alors Elizabeth Johnson Taylor, fille unique du constructeur de navires George Taylor. Plus tard la même année, il épouse Elizabeth en acceptant les deux conditions imposées par George Taylor, soit de devenir son associé et de perpétuer le nom de Taylor en plus de celui de Davie à travers ses enfants. Allison Davie décède accidentellement par noyade en 1836, seulement trois ans après l’ouverture du nouveau chantier à Pointe-Lévy. » – acdavie.com |
