English: Probably the ash altar of Zeus, in front of his temple. See Pausaniás VIII, 2 and VIII, 37.
Čeština: Patrně popelový oltář Dia, před jeho chrámem.

"Lykáón přinášel k oltáři Dia Lykaia lidské mládě, obětoval je a krví zkrápěl oltář, při oběti prý se však proměnil z člověka ve vlka (lykos). Já sám věřím v tuto pověst, jednak ji vyprávějí Arkaďané od nepaměti, jednak se to zdá pravděpodobné. Tehdejší lidé bylipřáteli bohů a účastníky jejich hostin pro svou spravedlnost a zbožnost..." (Pausaniás VIII, 2).

"Před oltářem stojí směrem k východu Slunce dva sloupy, ve starší době by byli na nich pozlacení orlové; oběti u oltáře k poctě Dia Lykaia konají tajně. Nechtěl jsem se do podrobností zabývat popisem obětí, nechť je tomu tak, jak je nyní a a jak bylo od počátku." (PausaniásVIII, 37)
