Description
Deutsch: Das 'Alte Gefängnis' in Rammenau wurde 1774 als 2. Schule Rammenaus erbaut. Hier waren um 1800 bis zu 200 Schüler angemeldet, die jedoch häufig fehlten. Eine allgemeine Schulpflicht wurde erst 1835 eingeführt.

Der Feldsteinbau der 2. Schule wurde 1851 zum Teil abgerissen und zur Schulscheune umgebaut.

Der Nachtwächter Rammenaus schloss hier gelegentlich über Nacht auch Gesetzesbrecher und Trunkenbolde zum Ausnüchtern ein, was dem Gebäude den Namen Altes Gefängnis einbrachte. Um 1920/1930 wurde es im Volksmund auch Hundeloch genannt.

Heute befinden sich hier eine Ausstellung zur Ortgeschichte und wechselnde Ausstellungen auf dem Dachboden. Neben dem Gebäude befindet sich ein Bauern- und Kräutergarten.
