| Description | At 08:30, Sersa locomotive Am 843 "Barbara" run from Rebstein into the train station over switch 21 in the direction of switch 16. At that switch, however, the lock, drive and monitoring were already removed, i.e. the switch blades were free in any position. It is not clear where the train driver wanted to go. But he did not notice this and Barbara derailed with all four axles. The preceding switch, No. 21, was also disconnected from the signal box, but could be operated with the hand crank. Sersa had requested this so that the dispatcher would not have to be contacted each time. In this picture, Barbara is already back on the rails. Switzerland, July 17, 2021. (3/10) |
