Description August 23, 2020, the U.S. Embassy contributed essential personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Diplomatic Security Division. Dhaka Metropolitan Police - DMP. The donation included 1,000 KN95 masks, 2,000 washable face masks, 800 250-milliliter bottles of hand sanitizer, and 1,400 face shields, all of which the United States purchased locally from Bangladeshi companies. This is the seventh in a series of equipment distributions the U.S. Embassy has provided in support of Bangladesh’s #COVID19 response. The U.S. is a proud and trusted partner, having provided more than $56.5 million to complement the Government of Bangladesh’s ongoing #COVID19 response efforts and building on more than $1 billion in health assistance provided to #Bangladesh over the past 20 years.
