English: Taking advantage of new rules allowing married same-sex partners to receive federal benefits put in place after the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, issues its first-ever derivative visas to the same-sex spouses of two Israelis relocating to the United States on work visas. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro and Consul General Lawrence Mire present the approved visas to Sergey Shepshelevich and Alexander Polyakov. as well as Elad Ben Yosef and Idan Frumin, at the Embassy’s visa section on August 8, 2013.
