Summary edit

Description
English: Amberley Wild Brooks Extensive wetlands bounded by the Arun in the west, Rackham to the east, Amberley to the south and Greatham in the north. In not so distant times communication between the latter two during periods of extensive flooding was often by rowing boat. Much of the area was drained for pasture in the post war era but was stopped after an enquiry in 1977 when Southern Water put forward a further scheme to completely drain it. The brooks are seen as a valuable wetland wild life area and plans are to allow more flooding in the future to increase the biodiversity. Taken from the Wey-South footpath with the early morning sun highlighting the dew covered grass.
