Description
English: A hiker looks for a good place to cross the southern branch of American Creek in the Steese National Conservation Area, Alaska. One of the main routes into the Mt. Prindle area leads through this area, which has no established roads or hiking trails. Bearberry, seen at the hiker's feet, is among several plants that turn the tundra orange and red during the autumn. BLM Alaska photo by Craig McCaa.
