editDescriptionAmerican tree poster variant - the tree of new america is our american tree.jpg |
English: Harold Arscott, an immigrant to the United States from Canada, while learning how to walk again is collecting wood from every state tree in the union. He is collaborating with San Francisco based Symmetry Labs, to erect a realistic looking 25 foot tree trunk affixed on top of a recovered tree stump donated from the Sequoia National forest in California. Harold Arscott and other artists are conceiving to carve into the side of the tree trunk a sculpture of an endogenous native woman known as the 'tree spirit'.
The creation of the tree is a passion project that showcases a work of art that combines the organic beauty of mother nature and modern technology. Symmetry Labs is providing the the canopy, which is an AI driven array of LED lights that change color and dance as the tree interacts with its environment, sound, silence, music and voice. The tree serves as both a symbol and a metaphor for the movement Harold Arscott started. Its demonstrates co-existence. As a movement Harold spreads his message to America as he travels with the tree from state to state celebrating the differences of those who make up the American cultural diaspora while preserving their individual cultural traits through art and story telling. |
