Description
English: This the main gopuram on the garbha griha where the main deity-Sri Kodanda ramachandra swamy along with his consort Sitadevi and brother Lakshmana swamy reside.This is one of those rarest places where Lord Rama is in the form of Kodandarama i.e., with an arch and a bow.Rama is shown as Kodandarama only in the places where Rama travelled during his xile.This is also a monolithic structure. The deities are also mad20171105 143111e of a single rock and the garbha griha is adorned with beautifully cut thoranams

This is a temple built by the Vengi kings in about the 13th century A.D and modified by many rulers.This is one of those rare temples where you cannot find Hanuman next to Lord Rama.
