English: An abandoned iron mine Varying amounts of iron ore was mined in the Trwyn-y-tal area between 1860 and 1880. One document refers to "an undersea mine". The land was rented from Lord Newborough of Glynllifon, the annual rent being £5 plus a royalty payment of 3d per ton of ore produced. All that remains today are levels, a blocked off shaft and spoil runs. |
