Description
English: An ancient Sweet Chestnut tree - detail Centuries-old specimens of sweet chestnut trees can be found in Great Britain as well as throughout central and western Europe. This particular tree grows in Brickkiln Grove, beside Serpentine Road, and it is believed to have been planted by Robert Marsham (1708 - 1798), who was one of Norfolk's greatest tree planters. A conservation order was placed on this tree on 6th July 1995.
