| Description | An elderly Chinese gentleman examines fresh Mandarin oranges in Toronto's Chinatown district on Spadina Ave. Mandarin oranges are such an integral part of Chinese culture! Although colourful, there was none of the chaos and confusion and smells of an ethnic market in this Chinatown. First developed in the late 19th century, this main Chinatown district on Toronto's Spadina Avenue is now one of the largest Chinatowns in North America and one of several major Chinese-Canadian communities in the Greater Toronto Area. There are approximately six other Chinatowns in Greater Toronto, including in the municipalities of Markham and Mississauga but I missed noticing them. More notes as we go along in this album.
