Description
English: An ancient rock-cut winepress in the Judaean Mountains. Pictured here in early summer, when it is covered with common duckweed (Lemna minor). It is located in the outskirts of Jerusalem, Israel, on Mount Hareth (Hebrew: Har Heret; Arabic: Kh. Harash). There are many agricultural remains in the vicinity, including the ruins of agricultural towers ("shomeras") and ancient terraces.
