English: Andrzej Stanisław "Tadeusz" Grodyński after completing flying school in 1944 (aged 21) and before being assigned to 306 Toruń Combat Squadron as a fighter pilot. 306 Squadron (pl) was one of four squadrons in the 133 Fighter Wing of the RAF, which consisted at the time of three Polish squadrons 306, 309 and 315, plus one British squadron, 129. Andrej was born in Poznań on 28 November 1922 and on surviving a Russian forced labour camp in Siberia he made his way to the United Kingdom to join the allied forces. Following the end of World War II hostilities he decided to remain in the UK and spent most of the remainder of his life living in London before passing away on 26 April 2003. [The book 'The Grodyński Brigade' (Brygadą Grodyńskawo) was written by Andrzej during his later life and was published on 1 January 2013 with this photograph displayed on the front cover. Along with his autobiography the book comprises the life stories of Andrzej's mother, father and brother who respectively served with distinction in the Polish Red Cross, Army and Navy during WWII.] The Scotch Mist Gallery contains photographs of historic buildings, monuments, memorials and people of Poland.
