Summary
editDescriptionAni church of St Gregory of Tigran Honents 0 View from northwest high up 5520.jpg |
English: The church is below the level of the main site, so one gets a good view of its structure. One can see a lone pillar, remaining of a narthex that was built slightly later than the main church, as was the chapel to its left. That must have been restored, because on an older picture we see its ruin. |

In the name of a file I indicate roughly what is shown. The category I put them in is used a lot, but I think that, as even in Ani there are several churches for the saint, using the name of the founder (Tigran) is more correct.
One of two series, taken with a 4 years interval. The first series shows how the church was overgrown with grasses, a lot was restored at the second visit. The season also was different, which is reflected in the colours. In several pictures the colour of the stone was recreated (somewhat) using colour correction, itis reddish, but very hard to capture correctly.
