| Description |
English: Animals at Sturtmoor Pond, Plaitford Common, New Forest Sturtmoor Pond is the only large watering hole on Plaitford Common and large numbers of commoners' animals gather here to graze, drink and root. The three piglets in the foreground followed the wallowing sow around, presumably she is their mother. In the background are ponies and their foals, as well as cattle. The water level in the pond at the moment is quite low, following a very dry April. |
