Nederlands: De "Waterloo" was een van de zeven zeilschepen die eind 1826 vanuit Den Helder troepen naar Java moesten brengen. De "Waterloo" voer uit op 29 december 1826 met 667 man aan boord. Het schip kreeg al snel te maken met zwaar noodweer en verloor in vliegende storm al zijn masten. Doordat het schip bij het eiland Borkum voor anker kon gaan, bleven schip en bemanning behouden. Het werd hersteld en vertrok alsnog naar Java, waar het op 1 september 1827 aankwam. De minister van Marine schonk het anker in 1877 aan Bronbeek. Vanaf 1997 herdenkt men jaarlijks op 27 februari bij dit anker de vele honderden mannen die omkwamen bij de slag in de Javazee in 1942. Linieschepen waren in de tijd van de zeilschepen de grootste oorlogsschepen van de marine, meestal drie of viermasters met meer dan 50 stuks geschut aan boord.
