The following table gives a summary of the two tests in rela-tion to growth. It will be noted that in the second test the qualityequaled or exceeded the Starch standard in every grade, and that thethree lower grades exceeded the speed standard while the three uppergrades failed to attain it. A more complete study of the results of the tests is given inthe following bulletin which was sent to all buildings. Denver Public Schools 93 BULLETIN NUMBER THIRTY-ONE1919-1920 To Principals and Teachers of Penmanship • Handwriting Test 1. The results of the second handwriting test are given herewith. Themarked improvement shown is gratifying. The department of penmanship,working with the department of measurements and standards, is formulatinga Denver scale of handwriting which will place in every teachers hands anobjective measure by which careful diagnosis of the results of instructioncan be made by the individual teacher. It is suggested that each teacherstudy and compare the results of the two tests. A study of the scores of yourbuilding will show whether speed, quality, or both, should receive attention. 2.
