Summary

edit
Description A slightly more zoomed shot of the moose grazing by the road. This is the best I could zoom with my 135mm lens, and at any rate I did not want to venture further as the embankment was slippery and it was still drizzling quite heavily. The moose (North America) or elk (Eurasia), is the largest member of the deer family. Moose are distinguished by the palmate antlers of the males. Moose typically inhabit boreal and mixed deciduous forests of the Northern Hemisphere in temperate to subarctic climates. They used to have a much wider range but hunting and other human activities have greatly reduced it. Most moose are nowadays to be found in Canada, Alaska, New England, Scandinavia, Latvia, Estonia and Russia.
