Titel: Beck, A. Nadir-Instrument III. Form
Beschreibung: Hergestellt 1902 von der Firma G. Heyde in Dresden für Alexander Beck (1847–1926). Beck war Assistent bei Prof. R. Wolf an der Eidgenössischen Sternwarte, 1873 erhielt er am neugegründeten Polytechnikum in Riga eine Professur für Darstellende Geometrie und Astronomie bis 1898. In dieser Zeit befasste er sich auch mit der Entwicklung eines neuen Typs von astronomischen Instrumenten, den Nadirinstrumenten. Die Form 1 und 2 wurden bei Breithaupt & Sohn in Cassel ausgeführt. 1898 kehrte er wegen der Ausbildung der Kinder und aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nach Zürich zurück. Im Garten der Sternwarte arbeitete er mit dem Instrument der 3. Form
