Description
Deutsch: aus dem DEHIO Vorarlberg 1983: Koblach, Birken 17a: ANSITZ Birkach (Birken), am Südhang des Kummen, im Ortsteil Birken. Erbaut vor 1616 (1579?) durch die Feldkircher Stadtammannfamilie Pappus von Tratzberg. Vor 1685 Übergang an Johann Grenzing, Stadtammann zu Feldkirch, vor 1715 im Erwerb an Franz Joseph Zürcher; Erstes 18. Jh. in bürgerlichen Händen. Einfacher 2geschossiger Renaissanceansitz über annähernd quadratischen Grundriß, Satteldach. Gegen Westen neuzeitlicher Anbau. Regelmäßige Reihen hochrechteckiger, zum Teil durch steinerne bezw. hölzerene Mittelpfosten 2geteilter Fenster in gekehlten Rahmen; im Erdgeschoß der südlichen Giebelfront zusätzlich zwei gekoppelte 3teilige Reihenfenster mit innen freistehendem, reich profiliertem Mittel(Trennung-)pfeiler, Anfang 17. Jh. In der östlichen Trauffront gefasstes Rundbogenportal, am Bogenscheitel erhabener Wappenstein der Pappus von Tratzberg, Anfang 17. Jh. Unter der Traufe erneuerte gemalte Jahreszahl 1579. - Im Inneren entlang der Südfront tonnengewölbte Keller mit gefasten Rondbogenportalen, darüber in den beiden Wohngeschossen einfache Leistendecken, 17. Jh. Ausgebautes Dachgeschoß, darin mit Resten ornamentaler Malerei, 17. Jh.
