Description

Em 1881 Martins Sarmento visitou este dólmen, que descreveu assim: "Está no meio de um campo cultivado e serve, ora de cozinha, ora de abrigo aos guardas do campo ou aos rapazes que pastoreiam gado. O interior da câmara tem sido por vezes revolvido. A mesa tem 2,50 m; os suportes medem de altura 2 metros. É uma construção pequena, mas sofrivelmente conservada." Trata-se de de um monumento constituído por uma câmara poligonal composto por cinco esteios trapezoidais inclinados para o centro, desprovida de corredor; apresenta duas aberturas,encontrando-se um esteio fragmentado no lado Norte; coberto por chapéu de forma ovalada com cerca de 2,5 m. de diâmetro e assente em três esteios. Na gravura publicada por Sarmento aparecem sete esteios (devem-se ter perdido dois, fazendo com que o monumento passasse a ter duas aberturas). Dimensões médias dos esteiros: altura, 2 metros ; largura, 1 metro.
