Summary edit

Description

The Residenz was the official residence of Bavaria's ruling Wittelsbach Family.

Like many other royal palaces in Europe, the Residenz is built with propaganda in mind, by highlighting the legitimacy and the power of the occupant. A surefire way to assert one's legitimacy was to claim to be the descendants of the Roman caesars, and the best way to do it would be to have a hallway full of Roman emperor busts and statues.

Here is an old Roman male nude who has been Bobbitized.

This would be just the first of countless male nudes I would see throughout my two-week European journey. In "honor" of the Tea Party uprising back in the US - an Astroturf campaign to "protect" the US and its Constitution from "Kenyan Muslim socialist" (who really is none of the three) President Barack Obama - I referred to every male nude as a "teabagger," using the Tea Partiers' self-chosen nickname but in a more common slang usage of the word. And for a contrast, I would refer to all female nudes as "carpetmunchers."
