This portrait is recorded in Dumont's sitter's book in 1790: M Le Chevalier Bertin 8 [Louis d'or] (Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Bibliotheque Jacques Doucet, Ms. 104), fo 12 (anno 1790). Here, the sitter wears the Order of Saint Louis.
