English: ANTONIO GIURIOLO said "Captain Toni" was born in Arzignano (Vicenza) in 1912. He graduated in Letters in Padua, he can not teach in public schools because he refuses to enroll in P.N.F. (National Fascist Party). Captain of the alpini, organizer of the first resistance against the Nazis and the Republic of Salò, partisan in the formation "Giustizia e Libertà". After being in Friuli and in the Belluno area in May 1944 arrived on the Asiago plateau, sent by the Committee of national liberation of Veneto to coordinate the scattered gangs of partisans. The experience in the Vicenza mountains, described in Luigi Meneghello's "Little Teachers ", ended shortly afterwards. In the roundup of the 5 June 1944 Captain Toni remained isolated and escaped in solitude, before to the mountains of Campogrosso and then to Arzignano, where he was born. He went to Bologna to heal a wounded hand.

Then climbs the Apennines to command a brigade Matteotti. Fallen in combat in Corona of Lizzano in Belvedere (Bologna) on 12 December 1944. Gold Medal for military valour.

Italiano: ANTONIO GIURIOLO detto "Capitan Toni" nasce nel 1912 ad Arzignano (Vicenza). Si laurea in Lettere a Padova, non può insegnare nelle scuole pubbliche perchè rifiuta l'iscrizione al P.N.F. (Partito Nazionale Fascista). Capitano degli alpini, organizzatore della prima resistenza contro i nazisti e la Repubblica di Salò, diventa partigiano della formazione “Giustizia e Libertà”.

Dopo essere stato in Friuli e nel Bellunese, nel maggio del 1944 venne inviato sull’Altopiano di Asiago dal Comitato di liberazione nazionale del Veneto a coordinare le bande sparse di resistenti. L'esperienza nei monti vicentini, descritta ne “I Piccoli Maestri” di Luigi Meneghello, finì poco dopo. Nel rastrellamento del 5 giugno 1944 Capitano Toni restò isolato e la scampò in solitudine, fuggendo prima sui monti di Campogrosso e poi a Arzignano, dov'era nato. Si reca a Bologna per curarsi una mano ferita. Quindi sale sull'Appennino per comandare una brigata Matteotti. Caduto in combattimento a Corona di Lizzano in Belvedere (Bologna) il 12 dicembre 1944.
