Description
English: One of some large size pictures of buildings on the Grote Markt, some of a single one, some of a row. Information can be found on Wikimapia (in Dutch, some in other languages).

Nr. 3 (White Angel) is a deep corner house, originally next to it stood nr. 1, Tafelronde (Round Table), but that has been demolished in 1886-89 to widen the Braderijstraat now next to nr. 3. In 1900 architect Eugène Geefs had reconstructed the front. Nr. 5, De Mouwe, was reconstructed in 1901 after a design by architect Eugène Geefs. A building “De Gulden Mouwe” (The golden sleeve [my translation]) is mentioned in 1436, but burned down in 1576 during the Spanish Fury. Nr. 7 “Spaengien” (Spain) was built in 1515-16 for the St. George arbalest guild, but destroyed in 1576 during the Spanish Fury. In 1582 the rebuilt was finished, that was restored in 1892.

Nr. 9 “De Spieghel” (The mirror) was the seat of the longbow guild. It was rebuilt in 1903-04 in neogothic style under architect F. Van Dijck. The monument of St. Sebastian in stone is by J. Gerrits.
