Summary

Description Pigeons and doves are seen alenty in the wild, but first in Ottawa in June, and now here in Toronto, I spotted several house sparrows as well. Sparrows are finch-like birds. They have stout bodies, rounded wings and broad heads, with deep, conical bills adapted for seed-eating. Garden sparrow, tree sparrow, house sparrow- all three are almos tidentical in appearance. This one is a male, judging by the black nape on his breast and the black across his eyes. (Toronto, Canada, Nov.2015)
