Summary edit

Description
English: After a period of 6 to 10 month of maturation, the discomposed human excreta can be applied as a very potent fertilizer. The gardeners of Fada N'Gourma reported that they get a much higher output using faecal sludge as fertilizer and compared to chemical fertilizer it doesn't burn the crop. In Fada N'Gourma, human excreta are mainly used for vegetables like cabbage, salad, tomato, onions, etc.. The gardeners are very aware to avoid that the crop gets in direct contact with the plant by applying the fertilizer in little holes a few centimetres beside the crop, that they close after applying the fertilizer.
